Each year, over 128,000 students participate in Inside the Outdoors programs where they explore lessons from nature ranging from watershed education to health education. The work we do is made possible because of the tremendous community support we receive, so we thought it would be fun to share some great things that have happened recently at Inside the Outdoors.
Inside the Outdoors has received awards for environmental and academic excellence
2008 Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for Children's Environmental Education. This program recognizes individuals, organizations, and businesses that have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made notable contributions in conserving California’s precious resources, protecting and enhancing our environment, and building public-private partnerships. http://www.calepa.ca.gov/Awards/GEELA/
2008 California School Boards Association Golden Bell Award . 2008 Samueli Foundation Big Heart Award. Big Heart Awards are given to outstanding agencies serving the community and world with creative, sustainable, and entrepreneurial programs.
