About Inside the Outdoors
Inside the Outdoors ® was established in 1974 to empower students, teachers, parents, and the community to explore the natural world, while expanding their knowledge and understanding of science and the wonders of nature.
Inside the Outdoors, administered by the Orange County Department of Education, is self-supporting and does not receive any tax-based funding. The Inside the Outdoors Foundation is a tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting the Inside the Outdoors mission by raising funds, as well as building community awareness and involvement for Inside the Outdoors.
Adopt a Class Sponsorships
Adopt-a-Class opportunities allow Inside the Outdoors to offer student scholarships to by program: Traveling Scientist, Outdoor Science School, Field Trips, and Community Programs.
Community Program Package for $5,000 (1 Community Program and Family Science Night for 60 children and their families)
Field & Traveling Scientist Package for $7,500 (2 Field Trips and 1 Traveling Scientist for 60 students)
Outdoor Science School Partial Sponsorship Package for $10,000 (4 or 5 day overnight science adventure in the San Bernardino Mountains for 60 students)
Outdoor Science School Full Sponsorship Package for $25,000 (4 or 5 day overnight science adventure in the San Bernardino Mountains for 60 students) Adopt a Program Sponsorships
Adopt-a-Program opportunities provide funding focused on specific areas, such as watershed or health education.
Summer Day Camp Package for $2,500 (Supports Summer Day Camp for 60 campers) Go Green! Environmental Workshops for $5,000 (Supports Go Green! Environmental Workshops 500 students and their families)
Community Environmental Education Package for $7,500 (Supports Community Nature Days for 1000 students and their families)
Health Education Package for $10,000 (Supports Health Education programs for 65,000 students and families)
Water Education Sponsorship Package for $25,000 (Supports Water Education for 60,000 students and families)
